ABOUT

IMPROMPTU

A graduate of the Royal College of Music in London, Raphaël Froissart set himself a challenge in 2024: to make classical music more accessible.

His performances, filmed up close with the audience and enriched by collaborations with renowned artists, stir the emotions of every generation around the world.

With his instrument, the clarinet, until then little known to the wider public, he has made an international breakthrough and today brings together 10 million people across his social media.

In 2025, he decided to take a further step: to bring to the stage the magic he creates online. He conceived an entirely new concert format and gave his project a new dimension by creating a festival in the heart of Paris.

THE ORIGIN OF THE PROJECT : RAPHAËL FROISSART

Conductor and composer Raphaël Zeitoun, the festival's artistic director, tailors each piece in the programme specially for the occasion. He reveals the beauty of every work through arrangements composed exclusively for these evenings.

Tailored to the Arènes and its immersive staging, this program sets Impromptu apart as one of the most distinctive events in the classical music world.

The Festival's first edition, titled Les Arènes de la Nuit, was a genuine success in 2025.

In August 2026, the project returns under a new name, IMPROMPTU, for a more ambitious edition with fine surprises in store...

A name that captures this free, immersive and unexpected musical experience.
